AED Course (and refresher)
Target group
The AED Course is for employees who want to know how to administer first aid and provide medical care to someone who has had a heart attack, using AED equipment. Course participants should possess a valid first aid diploma or resuscitation certificate and competent resuscitation skills.
What can the AED Course teach you?
If someone has a heart attack an AED machine is the most effective life-saving instrument. Rapid awareness and providing speedy resuscitation, defibrillation and professional help will also increase the patient’s chances of survival. This course will teach you how to recognise a heart attack, what to do first, and which other areas you should pay attention to, for both your own safety and that of the victim. You will learn medical skills with which you can regulate and stabilise the patient’s vital functions. You will also learn resuscitation skills and how to use the AED machine, competently and responsibly.
Practical assignments
All phases of using an AED machine are dealt with: from initial contact with the patient, up to and including checking and maintaining the AED equipment after the patient has been picked up by the ambulance.

Refresher course
To keep your knowledge and skills up to date and to maintain the validity of your certificate, you should follow a refresher course every year. The refresher course lasts for one day.
